Holli Morrison, PT, DPT, ACSM-EP
About
Movement has always been vital to me, whether through dancing, weightlifting, or outdoor activities with my dogs. Having faced injuries and surgeries myself, I understand the mental and physical challenges of limited movement. As a physical therapist, I enjoy connecting with patients to help them regain confidence in their activities.I started Morr than Physio to tailor your rehabilitation to your active lifestyle. My approach emphasizes that pain does not hinder your ability to be active, it just might look a little bit different throughout the process. I offer personalized care for injuries, chronic pain, or health improvement. I will listen to your concerns, assess your movement, and create a tailored plan for effective recovery and optimal function.
Injury Rehab
Whether you are dealing with an acute injury like a ligament sprain or muscle strain, or pesky pain that doesn’t seem to go away- I will develop an individualized plan to help reduce your pain as well as improve strength and movement to prevent future injury.
SERVICES
Injury Prevention
Not currently expereincing pain or injury, but would like to optimize your movement? I can help to identify any risk factors such as instability, muscular imbalances, and movement pattern deficits to develop a plan so you can stay healthy and resilient.
Dry Needling
Dry needling involves the use of thin, monofilament needles to target painful or tight muscles to reduce pain and improve blood flow. Dry needling works best in conjunction with exercise for improvement of function.
Pre- and post-operative rehab
If you are planning or have recently had an orthopedic surgery, I will create a rehab plan to optimize your recovery and ensure you return to activities safely and with confidence.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy includes any hands on physical therapy techniques such as soft tissue release, cupping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization and joint mobilizations to help reduce pain and restore movement.
Exercise Prescription
You will be prescribed exercises tailored to your goals to help you recover from injury and prevent injury in the long term! All sessions involve going through a series of exercises under the supervision of your physical therapist to ensure you are getting the most out of each exercise.
FAQs
-
You do not need a doctor’s referral to work with me! North Carolina is a direct access state which means you can make an appointment directly with a physical therapist without a referral from your doctor.
-
I provide cash-based services. This means you pay a flat out-of-pocket rate for your sessions. Unfortunately, insurance companies can make it very difficult to provide a high quality of care due to decreasing reimbursement rates and restrictions on number of visits and treatment type. With an out-of-network model, I am able to give you my full attention during your visit and spend the extra time to tailor your plan to your individual needs.
At your request, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your health insurance company for potential reimbursement depending on your plan.

Each session is one-on-one with a doctor of physical therapy. Your evaluation is 55 minutes and will include a thorough history, movement screen, any necessary tests and measures, manual interventions, exercise prescription, and education on your physical therapy plan.
Follow-up sessions can be 55-minutes or 30-minutes depending on your needs. These will typically include both manual therapy and a series of exercises designed to address your goals.

Always! This is an essential part of the process and often critical in the success of your recovery.
After your evaluation, you will receive an email inviting you to an app where your exercises will be available to view. I take personalized videos during your session that are only for you to see so you can reference them while you do your exercises on your own. The app allows you to view your rehab workouts and track your progress overtime.
